During my year as Archivist in Residence at Sculpture Space Inc., in Utica NY, I began working on a series of small scale studies. These small sculptures and maquettes were a new way for my to look at my process and explore new building techniques. throughout the year I created dozens small works ranging from 6" to 18" tall using materials left over from other artists as they passed through Sculpture Space. Over time these sculptures grew in complexity and form resulting in a new shorthand that has heavily influenced the way I aproach my work.
